Step-by-Step Process

Get Admission & Receive Form I-20

  • Once accepted by a SEVP-approved school, you will receive a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status).

Pay SEVIS Fee

  • The SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) fee of $350 must be paid before applying for a visa.

Complete DS-160 Form (Online Application Form)

  • Fill out the DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Application online and print the confirmation page with the barcode.

Pay Visa Application Fee

  • The F-1 visa application fee is $185.

Schedule Visa Interview

  • Book a visa appointment at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.

Attend the Visa Interview

Prepare required documents:

  • Passport (valid for at least six months beyond your stay)
  • Form I-20
  • DS-160 Confirmation Page
  • SEVIS Fee Receipt
  • Proof of Financial Support
  • Admission Letter from the University
